26/1/2010 Established in Bra by Carlo Petrini in 1986, Slow Food became an International association in 1989. Today it has 100000 members, with seats in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, U.S., France, Japan, U.K. and supporters in 130 countries. From an idea of Slow Food, Terra Madre was started, the world meeting between Communities of Food, which had its 3rd edition in October 2008. Slow Food, through projects (Presidi), publications (Slow Food Editore), events (Terra Madre) and fairs (Salone del Gusto, Cheese, Slow Fish) defends the biodiversity and the rights of nations to food. An important date for the association is coming near, the national conference. The national conference is the most important moment of the associative life of Slow Food Italy.
